Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Each Pella® product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What does this mean for you? Not only might your notice a decrease in your heating and cooling charges, you can help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are all specifically designed and custom-made for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our wide variety of products make it nearly impossible to discuss pricing without first understanding your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who can provide you with a quoted project price upon seeing the project site itself. To expedite the quoting procedure, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can give you all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has been given the opportunity to consider the requirements of the job and aligns them with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad variety of first-rate products to choose from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Roanoke area home all the while.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you should use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. Or you can make your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could form streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. They are required to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We seek out the best Roanoke-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Prior to beginning our relationship, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. Beyond Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Your local Pella branch provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t provide. Our staff is made up of professionals whose expertise is in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Using a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your renovation will have the strength of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. You can easily contact your sales representative or our main office if you have any concerns and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Roanoke homeowners choose Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. Every one of our high quality windows and doors are made with attention to detail and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated window and entry door showrooms across the United States and Canada. This unique way of operating our business gives the homeowners in Roanoke a highly personal experience with the backing of a local to Roanoke, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
